AIYF-AISF hosted a well-attended discussion on “SIR and Its Implications for Indian Democracy”

CPI General Secretary D. Raja made the initial remarks. Prof. Ajay Gudavarthy, Associate Professor at the Centre for Political Studies, JNU, presented a comprehensive analysis of SIR, arguing that mass disenfranchisement is intended to undermine the welfarist character of the Indian Republic by depriving people of their basic entitlements, within the broader context of the global neoliberal capitalist agenda.

CPI National Secretary P. Sandosh Kumar MP, Dr. Girish Sharma, AIYF General Secretary Sukhjinder Mahesari, AIYF President Raushan Kumar Sinha, and CPI National Council member Vivek Sharma participated in the discussion alongside AIYF-AISF activists from Delhi.

The discussion brought the questions of electoral rights, social justice and the future of Indian democracy into sharp focus.
